My Dad pulled both hammers back and stood in front of me, told me to be ready. It stopped about 50-55 yards from us in the tree’s and went quiet. All we knew for sure was, it was big and wasn’t scared of us, the dogs or the chainsaws. Whatever it was had picked up it’s pace and continued toward us. My Dad told me to get the gun from the cab (He carried a double barrel 10 gauge with 00 buckshot). We stood there and listened, something was walking, getting closer. We had finished and we're loading the truck, when our two dogs started barking. My first encounter I was with my Father cutting wood. "I have seen the creature called 'The Grafton Monster' several times when I was a young man and it is very real.Below are two of those alleged sightings: More than twenty sightings were reported from this monster hunt, which Robert Cockrell interviewed in detail. Spurred by the commotion and by new sighting, the Grafton Sentinel interviewed some of the teenagers and produced an article about the creature on June 18th, 1964 titled " Teen-Age Monster Hunting Parties Latest Activity on Grafton Scene." Other Testimonies These roving groups of teens scoured Riverside Drive, near where where Cockrell has initially seen the creature, and soon new sightings were being reported. In very short time, monster hunting parties formed, predominantly made up of local teens armed in baseball bats or whatever they could find. Cockrell's friends however, were fascinated with the idea of a monster on the loose and went around town telling as many people as they could. Cockrell assumed that nothing more would come of his sighting after that point. The next day at work, Cockrell mentioned to his editor Grafton Sentinel of what he had seen, but the editor did not take the sighting seriously. They agreed, but when they returned to the sight all they were able to find was trampled grass and a low whistling sound that seemed to follow them around the site. Cockrell explained his sighting to them and asked them to come with him to the location of the sighting in order to investigate further. Once home, Cockrell called two of his friends: Jerry Morse and Jim Mouser. ![]() The creature moved quickly out of view, and upon realizing that the white obstruction was a living creature, he quickly accelerated down the road until he reached home. It also had white, seal-like fur, and disturbingly, didn't appear to have a visible head. ![]() Surprised by the encounter, Cockrell initially slowed down, and he was able to see that the creature was very large and appeared to be made entirely of muscle. Cockrell at the time had no explanation for the noise, but later on ufologist Gray Barker, believing the creature to be extraterrestrial in origin, suggested that the noise was being emitted from the creature's space ship. Īccording to Cockrell's account, the creature was lumbering around the side of the road while a low, whistling noise was being emitted from further way in the direction of the river. There Cockrell suddenly encountered a large, white creature on the righthand side of the road, which was the side that the Tygart River was located. ![]() ![]() On June 16, 1964, at around 11pm, Robert Cockrell, a reporter for the Grafton Sentinel newspaper, was driving along the Tygart River on Route 119, known as Riverside Drive, on his way home from work. Yes, are the writers a little lazy with their spoon-fed exposition? Of course. And many of the renovation changes suggested by Tiffany did not come to fruition as she and Brooks ramped up their collaboration throughout the movie. ![]() For those rebuffed at the idea of making over Brooks when he claimed to be happy, the script was very clear that his home was pretty devoid of furniture and personality, and that his personal wardrobe style was sloppy and comfortable, because he was having a hard time moving on from the devastating break-up with Gwen. I laughed so often at Brooks, and I enjoyed the journey of Tiffany struggling to retain her air of sophistication, but succumbing to the charms of Brooks and loosening up to allow her true persona to shine. So many storylines play out like a dozen other movies you've seen, so I enjoyed the home makeover theme. It seems that these Canadian productions have a pool of about 50 actors they draw from, so I liked seeing fresh faces for the leads. I wasn't familiar with the leads, so that was refreshing. Like my title say, things start to get better the deeper we go into the movie. In the first half, they didn't even have that playful banter because Tiffany was completely missing anything Brooks said or felt. I started to like Laura Mitchell in the second half and there was even a little chemistry developing with Dennis Andres even if it seemed like forever before they started to connect. Oh and there was Johannah Newmarch's fake smile that wouldn't fool anyone. The acting was fairly good with the possible exception of Clayton James whose only contribution was to stand around and look either bored or disgusted. They want to force a blue collar guy into high fashion, men's style. They keep insulting him well into the movie. I loved how they snuck that contract in and not only did he not read it, but neither did Tiffany when she promised him it would be great. Not only that but force the makeover on him when he doesn't want anything changed in the first place. Insult the guy and expect him to take it. Here's the awful premise: oh yeah, who wouldn't want to watch a reality makeover that comes in and tells a blue collar guy that not only is his home terrible, but he is a loser personally as well. I haven't completely given up on that last idea. Then I wondered if maybe it was a parody on reality makeover shows since it was combining home makeover with a makeover of a person. Then a bit further I decided, maybe it just deserves worst premise ever. This movie started out so that I was thinking it might actually merit the statement of worst movie ever. I've watched so many movies where I hated the start for any number of reasons and ended up liking the movie. And people saying a movie is terrible while admitting they only watched 10-20 minutes. There are two things I don't like to see in a review. ![]() The bosses fare better in the combat and AI departments, but there’s about four in the entire game.īright Memory can be a bit messy at times we encountered several glitches such as you and enemies getting stuck in geometry, foes appearing out of thin air, and even a few crashes. Enemies can also be found running into walls, clipping into the environment, T-posing and aiming shots and grenades at the opposite end of the arena. Most enemies will go down without much of a fight, even on higher difficulties, meaning you don't need to use the majority of your kit as your AR and ESP suspension will suffice. While your combat mechanics and your kit feel great to use, it’s a shame that your adversaries aren't really worth it. You also have access to some good movement options like a seven-way air dash, rolls, slides, and even a grappling hook, which, sadly is completely underutilized due to it only being used on pre-determined grapple points. The melee combat is also surprisingly versatile with its own set of launchers, combos, and AoE attacks for both. Each weapon comes with an alternate fire, which are generally explosive and produce an obnoxious amount of screen shake in the shotgun and handgun's case. The gunplay feels great everything has a good weight to it aside from the shotgun feeling a bit underwhelming. Shelia is equipped with four guns, a sword, and ESP powers with her magic arm. Where Bright Memory shines is in that core gameplay. Captured on Nintendo Switch (Handheld/Undocked) It also doesn’t really offer anything to do outside of the campaign aside from replaying at higher difficulties. The game packs a Call Of Duty campaign's worth of setpieces into its short runtime. From a random car chase mission to fighting enemies on the wings of a burning airplane straight into a scrap with some re-animated guardian lion statues. Outside of the cutscenes, the game doesn’t slow down at all, and manages to hit you with some wild setpieces. Honestly, it feels like you’ve been thrust into the plot of a game about five hours into the story, and considering how abruptly it ends it’s hard to get too invested.ĭespite the Infinite in the title, Bright Memory is over in around two hours, and that isn’t two hours of pure gameplay we’re including cutscenes in that tally. The moment is given what is effectively a 'huh that’s weird' from the characters, and then for the rest of the game you fight a mixture of ancient warriors and SAI troopers with no more elaboration on their place. For example, at one point you’re knocked back by a blast, and when you wake up you’re suddenly fighting ancient warriors. Once crash landing in the area, Shelia discovers a black hole has formed and that SAI, a rival military company, is in the area and that its leader, General Lin, is seeking an ancient artifact. We can’t give it a full recommendation, but we kind of loved it.īright Memory is a first-person shooter with a heavy focus on its melee elements. For this guide, we’ll be using Heaven Benchmark (opens in new tab), which has a free version with a generous amount of settings that still let you test everything properly. One of the most popular is 3DMark benchmark (opens in new tab), which offers numerous specialized benchmarks for all devices, ranging from standard GPU tests to VR-specific benchmarks and more. There are lots of different benchmarking options out there. With that out of the way, let’s crack on with how to benchmark your graphics card. If you’re lucky enough to own an insanely powerful card like the Nvidia RTX 3080 or 3090, it should be able to handle most things at Ultra settings. Obviously the higher the resolution and graphical detail you select, in both benchmarks and the games themselves, the more strain will be put on your GPU. This means all your gaming experiences will be smooth and stable, so you can enjoy games as their developers intended. If your GPU can run an intense test without dropping below 60 fps, it should be able to handle anything you throw at it without losing performance. The absolute bare minimum acceptable frame rate for most gamers is 60 fps, though many enthusiasts accept nothing less than 144 fps or even 244 fps, to keep up with their high-end gaming monitors. These challenges are often in the form of 3D environments, and you can tweak settings such as the resolution and quality to raise or lower the load. How to benchmark your graphics card: what is a GPU benchmark?Ī GPU benchmark typically involves a bit of software that throws intense graphical challenges at your GPU, to see how it performs under stress. ![]() By performing a burpee prior to the jump, the lifter must properly land under control and move the hips and knees into flexion similarly to the tuck jump.
